Polaroid Archive I
Segmented Geographies

Spanning journeys across Eastern Europe, Israel, and the United States, this cohesive suite of unique Polaroid photographs by Liliana Orbach reimagines the classic travelogue as a quiet, poetic archive of place and memory. Working with the spontaneous, tactile chemistry of Polaroid film, Orbach distills diverse geographic encounters—from monumental metropolitan grids and historic European interiors to intimate domestic still lifes and resilient botanical forms—into focused, contemplative encounters.
Her aesthetic is defined by painterly warmth, nuanced natural light, and rigorous structural composition, frequently balancing geometric architectural planes with organic silhouettes. Each piece is preserved on fine-art paper, individually signed and dated as an original 1/1 work, and presented within a minimalist 20×25 cm metal frame that lends contemporary precision to the nostalgic medium. Together, the series offers an intimate, jewel-like visual journey that bridges continents, celebrating the fragile beauty of fleeting moments preserved in enduring material form.
